Our Team of Devoted Pet Professionals

We always knew that we wanted exceptional individuals to be part of our NV family. People that have A* grades in kindness and compassion are our people. People who deeply understand the power of the human animal bond, and what our pets bring to our lives, belong with us.

As well as devoted pet owners themselves, every member of our small team is experienced in the veterinary field. As a new practice, our whole team is a vital source of inspiration, constantly innovating and creating new approaches to review and improve the care we deliver for our patients and their people.

We feel grateful to have this group of fabulous people with us as we start our journey together at Nightingale Vets.

Nightingale Vets is a passion project for our owner and founder veterinary surgeon Dr Emily Nightingale. Creating a team that lives and breathes compassionate care, in an environment that values skill, expertise and loveliness, has been a lifetime ambition for Dr Emily.

  • Dr Emily has created a small team of experienced RCVS qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses.

Our nurses expertly ensure all the practical elements of caring for our patients are taken care of. From providing all the necessary cuddles and attention needed to promote excellent recoveries, ordering medication, keeping track of stock, to making sure our patients are comfortable and cosy whilst they stay with us, our nursing team have got it all covered.

Additionally, our nurses run our Welcome to the World programme, our behavioural and wellbeing clinics and provide reassuring guidance through all your pets‘ life stages.

Furthermore, these super qualified individuals who have decades of experience, support Dr Emily, assisting with surgical procedures providing vital anaesthetic monitoring and keeping a watchful eye on our patients as they safely sleep.

We feel very lucky to have them.

  • Welcoming, understanding, and a calming presence, our client care team will be the reassuring voice you’ll hear when you call us, and the friendly, familiar face that greets you when you visit the practice.

We pride ourselves on having created a client care approach that provides you with comforting and practical support, at what can sometimes be an worrying time.

Our team are on hand to help you with anything you might need. Whether you’re popping in to pick up your pet’s medication, need help with an insurance query, or simply to offer words of support and encouragement on your petparenting journey. We’re here for all of it, every step of the way.

  • Dr Emily is a qualified vet with almost two decades of experience in providing multifaceted care to her patients of all shapes and sizes.

With an emphasis on supporting the human animal bond, Dr Emily loves looking after both her patients and their owners, and understands that excellent veterinary support involves not just the pet, but care for their families too.

As a true all-rounder she enjoys the many different and varied aspects to life as a vet, ranging from performing complex life-saving surgeries, carrying out dental procedures (ask her what her favourite tooth is and why!) to quietly helping owners navigate the difficult terrain of pet loss.

If she's not in the consulting room or in the operating theatre, chances are she'll be on the end of a phone, supporting owners with reassuring advice and guidance.

Dr Emily holds talks for schools, regularly shares her knowledge on local radio, and holds presentations to other organisations about her favourite topic "The Power of the Human Animal Bond" highlighting the benefits pets bring to our lives.

Dr Emily is very much part of the community served by Nightingale Vets, as she lives in Ashbocking with her husband and three children and her own menagerie of animals. Blossom the cat who thinks she's a dog, a flock of re-homed chickens, Flora the escape artist red fox Labrador, Biscuit and Smokey the pre-loved bunnies and Punky and Stormy, the father and son Guinea Pig duo.

Beyond thrilled to be able to be fulfilling a lifetime ambition of creating a veterinary practice, where the utmost care and compassion meet professional skill and expertise, Dr Emily is looking forward to supporting the special relationship you share with your pets, from nose to tail and every step of the way.
