Our Team of Devoted Veterinary Professionals
We always knew that we wanted exceptional individuals to be part of our NV family. People that have A* grades in kindness and compassion are our people. People who deeply understand the power of the human animal bond, and what our pets bring to our lives, belong with us.
As well as devoted pet owners themselves, every member of our small team is experienced in the veterinary field. As a new practice, our whole team is a vital source of inspiration, constantly innovating and creating new approaches to review and improve the care we deliver for our patients and their people.
We feel grateful to have this group of fabulous people with us as we start our journey together at Nightingale Vets. Scroll down to meet our team.

Anna Walsh RVN
REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
Anna is nothing short of fabulous. Her "can do" approach means she definitely can and she absolutely does anything she sets her mind to. Not only is Anna a creative supertalent, making homemade candles and more, she bakes, runs, and looks after her three children.
Devoted petparent to Bella the labrador, as well as Rolo and Pearl the bunnies, and Badger the guinea pig, Anna makes time for everyone, and is exceptionally good at making everyone around her feel special. This applies most of all to her patients who Anna is so attentive to, using her vast amount of experience to make sure they all have the very best care. Her attention to detail means she is a whizz at imaging and is particularly skilled at taking dental x-rays getting the best images from even the tiniest of mouths so we can see where their teeth need help.
From guinea pigs and poorly bunnies that need intensive care to get them feeling better, to always being ready to scrub in and assist with complicated surgeries, Anna is the colleague everybody wishes they had.. and we're so lucky to have her!

Becks Darby RVN
REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
Beautiful Becks has been part of the Nightingale Vets team since we opened our doors in November 2023. Not only is Becks a supremely experienced veterinary nurse having worked in a referral hospital specialising in emergency and critically ill patients, her next-level organisational skills make sure the practice runs smoothly and we have everything we need to provide superb care. We don't call her our "Stock Queen" for nothing.
Becks has had a rollercoaster of a first year with us, with moving house, getting married to her Simon, and welcoming beautiful baby Bea into the family. Becks is on maternity leave at the moment, but we're so pleased that she pops in regularly so we can have baby Bea cuddles and a catch up. Sometimes we also have to help her naughty spaniel Bear who likes to eat things he shouldn't- the last time was a whole pack of Celebrations chocolates! As a qualified sailor, and skiing enthusiast, Becks loves outdoor pursuits, except when naughty Bear goes AWOL!
Fortunately to counter Bear’s misdemeanours, Becks is also dog mum to the immaculately behaved labrador Rune, who is taking her role as new big sister very seriously.

Christie Beecroft RVN
VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST
Christie is one of the newest members of our family here at Nightingale Vets. As an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse, Christie loves client care, and is able to advise and make sure you and your pet always get the help you need.
Always smiley and inherently caring, Christie deals efficiently with a huge array of administrative tasks, keeping everything under control all at once at the same time as making sure the families that visit us feel well looked after.
When she's not on the front desk, we often find her having a little chat and a cuddle with our inpatients making them feel extra special and settled. Christie also uses her superskills as a veterinary nurse, donning her cape and coming to the rescue when an extra steadying pair of hands is needed. She has a secret masterskill of getting IV lines into the littlest of veins and can spot a hypothyroid dog from a field away!
Christie is a petmum to her cats Samson and Pippin and beautiful doglet Fig, the tiniest, cutest little Jack Russell. Christie has a big year coming as she is running her first marathon, raising money for charity and in her spare time volunteers for the Cinnamon Trust.

Dr Claire Green DVM MRCVS
VETERINARY SURGEON
Lovely Dr Claire has been a vet for over 15 years, and is both experienced and knowledgeable. Claire joined us in September, and we are so pleased to welcome her to the Nightingale Vets team.
Dr Claire totally embodies our "Nightingaleness", as she is so kind and compassionate towards her patients as well as being a super skilled and very knowledgeable veterinary professional.
Her skills in theatre are something to behold, as she is able to perform complex surgeries leaving the neatest little stitches so you'd barely know her patients had anything done. In her spare time (and with work, a young family and running the family business we don't know how she does it all!) she finds time to keep up to date with new topics in veterinary medicine, as well as run a campsite complete with a luxury Shepherd hut on her farm.
As a busy working mum, spare time is not something there is a lot of but when Claire does get a moment for herself, she enjoys dog walking. Claire is also a guinea pig enthusiast, having bred and shown them for years and can tell a Lunkarya from a Texel from 30 paces! She's a bit of a super woman we think and we’re so pleased to have with us.

Emily Davis
CLIENT CARE COORDINATOR
Sparkly "Lady" Emily has been with us since the day we opened and is a familiar voice on the phone to many of you and is literally a ray of sunshine in human form.
Because of her sunny disposition, Emily excels in looking after the families under our wings, and provides the warmest welcome on reception together with the rest of the team.
Emily is also an interior design genius using her superskills to create a lovely relaxed and spa-like vibe at the practice for the enjoyment of all.
Emily is compassion personified, instantly being able to gauge a situation and provide support, encouragement and help instantly where needed.
Additionally, Emily is super organised, and makes sure that insurance claims are submitted promptly and deals with all the behind the scenes administration that this involves.
As a huge fan of the stage and screen and especially musicals, Emily has the most incredible singing voice and if you're lucky you'll be able to hear her trilling away whilst you wait in reception.
Emily's wonderdogs, Wisley the little cavapoo and Luna the cockerpoo are familiar faces at the practice as they also come to work with their mummy.

Jo Calvesbert RVN
REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
We are incredibly lucky to have Jo "on loan" from Melton Vets in Woodbridge every now and then. You can usually spot her as she loves a bit of neon, and leopard print, and if you can't see her, you'll probably hear her driving on her way to us playing Take That songs.
Jo is, and this is by her own admission, a completely obsessed Take That megafan. She has seen them perform all over the world and her dream came true recently when she met Gary Barlow.
Her devotion to boybands is only excelled by two things and that is her love of cats (she has five of her own. Bruce, Nigel, Moti, Mahal and Beryl) and her impeccable clinical standards. Jo is very experienced especially in emergency and critical care, and is most at home monitoring high risk anaesthetics, making sure they are kept safely asleep whilst the vets do their thing.
Jo also makes Marmite and cheese pinwheels for us as a treat when she comes to work with us, and it has totally divided the team. Fortunately, we aren't divided when it comes to how much we love Jo.
We think she is awesome and always look forward to her days with us.

Lesley Ramsay RVN
REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
Lesley is our resident wildlife enthusiast, and sustainability champion as well as being a horticultural ace. Able to breathe life into the poorliest of plants, our practice greenery goes on residential trips to Lesley's and comes back fresh and revived. We feel like that too after a work day with Lesley as she is so good at looking after us all.
Lesley has over 30 years of experience and is completely fanatical about supreme patient care. Lesley goes to great lengths to make sure our patients are as comfortable as possible like providing the softest beds, the quietest and calmest surroundings and being able to provide the gentlest care for her patients all day long.
A champion for the more elderly pets we look after, you'll find Lesley in her lunch break, sitting in a dog bed with a patient giving them some canine massage to make them feel more comfortable and calm and most likely sharing her sandwiches with them.
Lesley loves high standards of clinical care and as a bit of a dog and cat whisperer, she’s able to soothe the spiciest of felines and canines for nail clips, blood tests and more with her kind, gentle and reassuring nature which we all love so much.
Lesley has the most incredibly well behaved and trained working Border Collie, Nell, who helps with herding sheep and is a complete delight- just like her mum!

Paula Chapman
VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST
Paula is a rare and beautiful creature. We sadly don't see her as often as we'd like at Nightingale Vets, but we love it when she helps us out on reception, providing us with holiday cover when needed.
Paula is a mum, owns a gym together with her husband (check out Loose Cannons Conditioning) as well as being an experienced qualified veterinary nurse, sports massage therapist and is a machine when it comes to lifting heavy weights and kettlebell training.
Paula loves her allotment and last year grew a mega pumpkin that weighed 25kg (that's almost 4 stone!), as well as being a superb quizmaster writing questions for the annual charity fundraiser gym quiz which is always a great success!
Paula has a lovely little spaniel called Cuba, who provides encouragement for people training at the gym with his permanently bottom wiggle and waggy tail.
In her spare time she loves heading off in her trusty campervan for weekends away dog walking and exploring cycle routes in the UK.

Saffy Wright RVN
REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
Recently qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and with many years of experience coming from a busy veterinary hospital environment where she completed her rigorous training, Saffy is one of our newest additions to the Nightingale Vets family. If we had to sum Saffy up in one word, it would be "wholesome". Saffy is a remarkably conscientious and knowledgeable veterinary nurse, has five dogs (two fox red labradors Wren and Monty, and three spaniels Twiggy, Flo and Mabel) together with her partner Jack as well as Elsie the pony and is also a star baker. Saffy is brilliant in the nursing clinics she runs, supporting owners, and advising on puppy and kitten health and behaviour, as well as how to care for older animals.
Recently Saffy has been scrubbed into emergency procedures, showing yet another side to her skillset as she calmly assists her veterinary surgeon. We are so delighted to have Saffy in our Nightingale Vets family and love her for her brilliant ideas and her devotion to continually reviewing and improving the care we give our patients and their families.
Just when we think we couldn't adore her any more than we do, Saffy regularly treats the team to eggs from her flock of rescued chickens, her delicious homemade chilli for us all for lunch and the most incredible cakes.
