SPVS NEW START UP RUNNER UP
SPVS NEW START UP RUNNER UP
Nightingale Vets have been awarded Runner up, in the New Veterinary Start-Ups Category. We are thrilled to have been shortlisted together with four other fabulous veterinary practices in the UK who have all opened their doors in the last two and a half years.
Needless to say we are endlessly grateful to our beautiful team for providing such loving, skilled and professional care to our patients and their owners and we are thankful to the Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeon for recognising our tiniest practice with the biggest heart.
This is what the judges had to say about us…
Dear Emily,
Thank you for your recent entry to the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) Veterinary Business Excellence Awards in the Start Ups category. We received an exceptional number of submissions this year, each reflecting the dedication, innovation, and high standards that define our profession. The quality of entries in 2025 has been particularly outstanding, making the judging process more challenging than ever.
After careful review and deliberation by our judging panel, we regret to inform you that your entry was not selected as the winner this year. The competition was exceptionally strong, with many remarkable submissions, and reaching a final decision was far from easy.
However, we are pleased to share that your submission was recognised as the runner-up in this highly competitive category. It was clear to our judges that your work is already making a meaningful contribution to the profession, and your progress as a start-up is commendable.
The judges were incredibly impressed with your entry. Your submission stood out for its excellent use of data, comprehensive evidence, and clear strategic planning. The way you have invested in forward planning, set measurable goals, and involved your team in the process demonstrates a strong and sustainable approach. The dashboards, five-star reviews, and charitable investment all reflect a practice that is both client-focused and community-minded, while maintaining growth and sound business principles.
The judging panel particularly admired the clarity of your vision and the way your team is engaged in wider business operations. The involvement of RVNs was a real strength, and your commitment to high standards of care and innovation was evident throughout. The video presentation conveyed the positivity of your team which was lovely to watch.
Overall, your achievements were celebrated, looking ahead, the judges encouraged consideration of how the model can scale sustainably, as reliance on a single vet may present challenges to resilience.
We sincerely appreciate the time, thought, and effort you put into your entry. Your commitment to advancing veterinary practice and supporting excellence within your team and community is truly valued. We strongly encourage you to continue this important work and hope you will consider submitting again for future SPVS awards and initiatives.
To recognise and thank you for your entry, 5M Books are kindly donating a book to your practice from their veterinary collection. Please take some time to view the collection here and let us know which book you would like by 31st January 2026, and we will be delighted to arrange this for you.
Thank you once again for your contribution and for the positive impact you are making within the profession.
We wish you every success in your ongoing and future endeavours.
Kind regards,
Dr Ami Sawran FRCVS
